Staff Relations
Family Time:
It is our belief that a staff members ministry is deeply affected by their
family relationships.
For this reason we desire that all staff continually communicate the needs of
the family.
When they need to spend time with the family, to assist in healing, health, and
development, we ask that all staff members communicate this. (Please see our
“Personal Priorities” on the website.)
Finances:
The proper management of the family budget is budget not only a requirement
of good stewardship but is critical to the staff members testimony – both to
those within and without the body.
It is our belief that a staff members ministry is affected by their family
budget.
For this reason we desire that all staff members continually communicate the
needs of their family.
Staff Communications:
Communication and health between staff members is critical to a healthy ministry
team. “Staff Infection” can unravel the best plans and activities of the church.
For this reason we desire that all staff members share openly and honestly with
fellow staff members on a private basis to maintain strong biblical
relationships. When there are concerns we don’t let them fester. It is critical
of all leaders to be teachable and willing to hear concerns. This is a two way
communication. “No one can be a good leader who cannot likewise be a good
follower.”
Leadership:
It is the Senior Pastors responsibility to hear from the
Lord and follow His guidance in the overall development of the church. We
believe this is done with the counsel of the elders and other staff members –
the opinions of whom the pastor values. However, as a staff member it is
critical to understand the proper chain of command. Insubordination either
publically or privately cannot be allowed.
Personal Commitment:
We do not believe that a ministry call and employment to
the calling is the work of a hireling. Our belief is that one is employed in the
call because it is who they are – not simply what they do. Therefore, we see
ministry at Candlelight as a lifelong relationship. It is our desire that those
who join the pastoral staff share the common goal of yoking together for a
lifetime of service. If or when changes occur, we desire that those changes are
the organic work of the Lord within the team and therefore seek to make
adjustments that maintain a healthy lifetime personal commitment to one another
in ministry.
Those who embrace these things will find that working within the staff at CCF is both rewarding and encouraging.
